Nibali Pellizotti: It’s a double Liquigas at the “Giro del Trentino”

After the excellent performance during the opening time trial, where Vincenzo Nibali placed fourth, for the talented Sicilian is arrived today the win in the third relay section of the “Giro del Trentino” (Torri del Benaco-Folgaria). At his back, drew ahead of 12”, his team-mate Franco Pellizotti beated a little group of rider, that counted of Garzelli and Di Luca. An amazing double for the Liquigas Team who conquered the general ranking with Nibali: «Since the beginning, it was an hard race – explains team manger Stefano Zanatta – with Lpr and Acqua&Sapone that imposed the rhythms. 7 kilometres to go Pellizotti tried to attack but the sudden counter-attack launched by Nibali one kilometre before the top was decisive». The ‘shark of the strait’ passed the GPM with a lead of 5”, enduring opponents forcing: «I was able to carry out my attempt – tells twenty-three years old rider from Messina, who leads the general ranking with 27” of advantage over Golcer – and ‘manage’ the last five kilometres. The condition is growing up and the team feel good: tomorrow we’ll give our best to win this race».
