Team MILRAM will send a very young team to the 2nd Tour de Romandie (ProTour) from April 29 to May 4.  The team, with an average age of 23,7 years, will be led by Björn Schröder and Sergio Ghisalberti, who at the ages of 27 and 28 are also the oldest in the line-up.  The team is also placing its hopes on U-23 World Champion Peter Velits, who has had a very strong spring.   The Slovak came down with a cold during the Vuelta a Pais Vasco, which forced him to take a training pause.  He was satisfied with his performance in the Classic Liege-Bastogne-Liege, but noted, „I am still not 100 percent fit.“
MILRAM's young riders are expected to gather further ProTour experience in this difficult race through the french-speaking western Switzerland, with a prologue and five stages.
The Tour, which has been run since 1947, is marked by numerous climbs.  The decision of the overall win is expected to come in the third and fourth stages.  On Friday, there is a time trial of 18.8 km in Sion, followed Saturday by the Queen Stage from Sion to Zinal.   That stage is not long with only 127 km, but there are four Cat. I climbs to be conquered before the finish is reached at an altitude of 1,677 meters.  The winner will be crowned at the race's end in Lausanne.
