"An offensive team, willing to suprise". This is the analysis by Fabrizio Bontempi, Lampre's sport director, about Lampre team that will take part in Giro d'Italia 2008.
In blue-fucsia team, guided by sport directors Fabrizio Bontempi and Bruno Vicino, will run the following athletes: Fabio Baldato, Paolo Bossoni, Marzio Bruseghin, Francesco Gavazzi, David Loosli, Mirco Lorenzetto, Mauro Santambrogio, Simon Spilak and Sylwester Szmyd.
In blue-fucsia staff there will be doctors Andreazzoli and Guardascione; masseurs Bertolone, Borgognoni, Della Torre, Napolitano and Rubino; mechanics Biron, Bozzolo, Carminati and Pengo and press officier Appiani.
Some info and number about Lampre's cyclists that will run in the pink race: they're from 4 Countries (Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Switzerland); Baldato is the older and the one that won most stages in Giro (39 years old and 4 stages won), Spilak is the younger (21 years old); Baldato e Bruseghin took part in 9 editions, 4 are rookies (Gavazzi, Loosli, Santambrogio and Spilak); 28,1 the average age; Bruseghin and Loosli are the tallest riders (182 cms), Gavazzi is the shorter (172 cms), team average height is 176,8 cms; Lorenzetto (73 kgs) is the heavier cyclist and Szmyd (60 kgs) the lighter, for a team average weight of 66,5 kgs; Bruseghin is the only one who won a time trial in Giro (Biella-Oropa in 2007), Lorenzetto is the only one who won in 2007 (1 stage in Volta Valenciana and 1 stage in Tour of Turkey).
