Bijnaam gegeven door de befaamde radioreporter Georges Briquet. AdemaÃ¯ is een theaterpersonnage uitgebeeld door NoÃ«l NoÃ«l, een gewone man die toch wel blijkt een plantrekker te zijn met een goed hart voor iedereen. Levenslange bijnaam van deze topfiguur uit het Bretoens wielrennen.

Hinault werd "De Das" (=scheerkwast, want deze is vaak van dassenhaar) genoemd vanwege zijn felheid en vasthoudendheid, eigenschappen die de das ook heeft. De aanleiding voor deze naam werd volgens sommigen (gekscherend) gegeven door het feit dat hij bij zijn Bretonse boerderij dynamiet gebruikte om dassenburchten op te blazen, omdat de beesten anders van geen wijken wilden weten.

In 1994 was Rasmussen voor een wereldbekerwedstrijd mountainbike in Mont Saint-Anne. In het appartement waar de Deense renners verbleven was een tekenfilm op tv over een beer en een kip. De renner wiens bijnaam Beer was, lag ernaar te kijken. De andere renners vonden dat er ook iemand de kip moest zijn. Op dat moment verscheen Rasmussen in de deuropening en vanaf dat moment was hij de kip.

De melkboer van Wilsele
Verbeeck verdiende als prof nauwelijks genoeg om zijn gezin van te onderhouden en dus nam hij er een melkronde bij. Toen hij in 1970 de Omloop Het Volk won, had hij 's morgens voor de wedstrijd nog wel eerst even zijn melkronde afgewerkt. Daardoor kreeg hij die bijnaam.
